"Dance to the music of your dreams,
and their steps will bring you joy"

Our Contributions 1992-2009

Most recently we were pleased to share our stage with our new friends for life..." The Step In Time Line Dancers of Central VT".

They did a fantastic job accompanying us in our virgin voyage at the Barre Heritage Festival July 25th 2009.

Here is a letter from the group leader Sid McLam...

Hi Hillary,

Thank you again for inviting the Step 'n' Time Line Dancers of Central Vermont to share the stage with the GMCEDT at the Barre Heritage Festival. I know I enjoyed it a lot, and I think the ladies all did, too! I'll be curious to hear their take on Wednesday evening. I read your comments on the website, and I have to say we were extremely honored to be the first group ever invited to perform with you.

Also, a thank you for the generous donation. That was a total surprise for us! We were just happy for the opportunity to get the exposure in Barre, thanks to your group's hospitality.

Sounds like you all had an awesome performance at Lamoille County Field Days. I'm hoping enough of our group might be interested in joining the GMCEDT for some of the fairs in 2010.

Sincerely,
Sid

It honestly was a really cool event to share the stage with such great dancers and friends!  The invitation is open ANYTIME!!

February 1st 2009:

Our group also participated in a fundraising competition called " VT's Got Talent" up in Essex Junction VT, to raise fuel assistance money for Vermonters in need. It was an houour and a pleasure working with all of those troupes who donated their time, raising funds. We look forward to it again in 2010.

April 25th 2009:

Our organization held the 2nd annual VT Western & Folk Workshop, which is a donation only event to raise awareness of what types of dance styles VT offers. It was a plesaure putting on this event for our communities, and thank all who attended!

*- We have raised money to help fund the after school program at the Granville Village School in Granville Vermont, as well as participating in the after school program, teaching classes to their students. This school is a historical spot in Vermont and is one of the few one room school houses left in the state.

We donate our performances to senior centers, and private clubs, other church and school fund raisers and events, such as the Moss Glenn Grange in Granville VT. Where we donated food, and the entertainment for their festival in 2006! Thank you Moss Glenn Grange for letting us use your space to practice in for the summer of 2006!

Our organization dedicated it's performance on July 14th 2007 , at the Washington County Field Days to Gwendolyn Wooden. A 3-year old girl from our home town of Randolph VT, who was diagnosed with a rare case of E-coli. We donated $50.00 out of our group funds and raised money during our performance to donate to her, and her family.

CLOGGERS DANCE TO HELP SICK 3 -YEAR OLD

The 3-year old Randolph girl severely infected with E-coli in mid June is continuing to fight for her life at a Boston hospital. Now, some Randolph performers are going to bat to help her and her parents in the difficult ordeal.

A benefit performance by the Randolph-based Green Mountain Cloggers is set for Saturday morning at 10am, at the Washington County Field Days, said Hillary Barcomb, choreographer for the Cloggers exhibition dance team.

"We will be telling her story and requesting donations for her and her family. Two of our dancers are next-door neighbors of this fine young lady and they have donated there time this weekend, sitting by her bedside to relieve the parents", she said.

The group will be short on dancers as a result, but the result will be for a "good cause" Barcomb said.

The Cloggers, founded as a nonprofit in 1992, have been raising funds for 15 years as well as bringing their old fashioned dancing to the state, she said. She said the group tries to "give back to the community" and she hoped the donations would be able to help the girl's family.

The 3 year old was infected the same time as a 5-year old from Barre Town in what were apparently unrealted incidents, according to the Vermont Health Department. Both were in critical condition in Boston, but the Barre Town girl has since improved.

"We have been humbled by the generosity of the community.  Thank you again."

Darcy, Michael and Wendy

On September 29th 2007 this organization dedicated it's performance to Nathan Allard, who tragicaly passed away the day before our performance in a car accident. He was a 7th grade student at Randolph school , and was the bestfriend of one of our dancers Jacob Benoir, and his family was very close to another one of our dancers Cora Benoir, as well as Deb Lary who also dances with us, who taught him at Randolph School, and her daughter Haley Lary, who dances with us. This show was touching.

Rememberances of Nathan filtered through our group all day at this event, and I found out what a wonderful person he was, who was taken from us way too soon. I offered words of comfort to all the dancers, and hugs and kisses between us all went around us like a warm blanket the whole day.

This organization donated all of our proceeds from this performance to Nathan's family.

This group is more than willing to help support your cause.

Please e-mail us with your concern and we will see how we can help you!

MAY 3RD 2008:

Our organization donated a performance to the Williamstown High School to help a talent show raise money for two seperate famalies in need. They sustained injuries that resulted in paralisis. We were HAPPY and HONORED to help out!

Please view our archive of Weekly news to see photos and the news letter on this event!

We do not only donate performances for various church, school, private clubs and grange functions, and benefits for people in need, but we also DO NOT charge for our lessons. We work on donations alone with in the circle of our own organization to cover rental space at our studio.

(PLEASE view the "Information on Registration page for more information on how this works!)

This dance organization has been helping other nonprofit organizations,  and fellow Vermonters in need for 16 years. We are pleased to be a part of this organization and take PRIDE in every move we make......LITERALLY!

*- We support other dance organizations with in the state, such as our great friends at the,

"Mountain House Dance Company" , based in Tunbridge Vermont.

Their group was established in 2005 by Jennifer Loftus, Myra Howe, and Emily Ferro who are all sisters! Their group currently holds about㺞 dancers all from around the town of Tunbridge. Many of the dancers are related in some way. One of these dancers is Bobbi Sherwood-Lapierre who was the Green Mountain Cloggers Exhibition Dance Team's co-instructor for 12 years, and her daughter Aliesha, who started dancing with us when she was 5! It is a grand family event for the locals at the weekly practices.

They perform traditional clogging routines, to instrumental blue grass, and classic country songs. We have had the pleasure of dancing with them under their name, as well as having the honor accompanying them under our own group name at their first annual Mountain House Dance Company show held in March every year at the Tunbridge School. This was a great experience, and we would be honored to support them again in the future!

We also would like to acknowledge the "Green Mountain Cloggers" based in Burlington VT area, who have been established since the?'s. With their wonderful traditional  Appalachian style clogging, to LIVE music, they are truly "one of a kind"!

Also send a big hello to our neighbor's, the "Hill Top Cloggers" also based in Randolph VT. They are a mix of traditional and modern clogging. With traditional clogging outfits, and basic clogging routines, to classic country music, there routines are filled with energy, that these older adult dancers bring to the stage!

As well as the " Wild Country Cloggers" , based in Bennington VT. These are some fantastic cloggers, and just so happen to be the only group competition clogging team in Vermont! We are proud to have them represent what Vermont clogging is all about at the yearly Northeast Regional Clogging Convention!

(Photo shown below is our organization supporting there first clogging camp out event in Lake Lauderdale NY.)

Memorable Moments:~

We have had some memorable moments, a few of the major perks was performing on the state house steps in Montpelier VT and having the Governor of Vermont state come out just to see us dance and shake our hands!

The other was a show at the Pomfret Central school, where we had a VERY UNEXPECTED on looker.... Mr. Michael J. Fox!  After our show he came over to meet us all , and we got a great group picture with him!

We are also honored to have our organization requested to be recognized in a LIVE broadcast on FROGGY 100.9, in their "20 towns in 20 days" tour of Randolph VT!!

As well as being publicized in the White River Valley Herald of Randolph VT, the Barre Times Argus, and the Rutland Herald, for our achievements!

Not to mention the MANY GREAT comments from other performers on our group choreographed routines!

Mostly it is our patrons who follow us, from show to show, and look forward to see us support the community and state of Vermont for so many years! And to the new folks, who have just found us, and show amazing interests in who we are, and what we do!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR MANY YEARS OF SUPPORT TO OUR ORGANIZATION!

Dance to the music of your dreams,

and the steps will bring you joy!

Welcome
